Freesat
There is a new kid on the block in the world of television signals that you can now receive here in the UK.
Freesat brought to you by the BBC and ITV provides all the services on freeview ,but with a lot more besides, a lot of extra channels that make it a viable alternative to freeview, more so if you can't recieve freeview, due to hils etc.
BBC HD and ITV HD
The number one feature is the free High definition services.
Sky HD and cable HD pails alongside the BBC's output which is technically far superior and a revelation in viewing pleasure.
The depth of the BBC HD picture is the most quoted feature after I have installed it,people sometimes just sitting back in their chair marvelling.
All BBC HD is full 1080 with all programmes filmed in HD not upscaled, and the equal of HD from a Blue ray player.
Freesat can be recieved via an existing sky dish,by simply fitting another LNB unit to the dish allowing you to keep your sky receiver piped with signals.
Freesat can be used in any no of rooms,so if you live in a location where instance your Terrestrial reception is through trees wreaking havoc with your freeview reception freesat is the answer.
Or you could live in an area with very poor terrestrial reception such as a mountainous region.
So if you have an HD ready TV without an HD feed to it you are missing out on something special.
The sound can also be linked to a 5.1 sound system for even more viewing pleasure
Panasonic and sony now have a range of Televisions with Freesat tuners built in,but in my experience they are no match for a seperate unit by Humax.
Please study the Humax website, to get a feel for their products, they really are No1 in their game.
